TAMPA, Fla., November 27, 2006 - International Plaza has named Gary Malfroid as its new general manager. He will be responsible for day-to-day center operations and will work closely with International Plaza's marketing director, tenants and the greater community.
Malfroid comes to International Plaza from Richmond, Va., where he served as general manager for Regency Square, the city's premier enclosed shopping destination. He also spent eight years as operations director for The Mall at Tuttle Crossing in Columbus, Ohio.
He has been with Taubman Centers (NYSE:TCO), which owns International Plaza and Regency Square, since 1981, when he began as assistant security director for Woodland shopping center in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Mich.
International Plaza and Bay Street, an enclosed, two-story regional shopping center with an adjacent outdoor lifestyle center, is located on the southeast edge of the Tampa International Airport. It features 200 specialty stores and 15 restaurants, plus Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Dillard's, Robb & Stucky Interiors and Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza.
